As well as a full range of RYA Course aboard our advanced RIBS´s, we offer own boat tuition in boat handling, passage making and engine maintenance.

Boat Handling

Whatever boat you own, be it a Cruiser, RIB or Sports Boat, we offer a tutoring service. As well as the RYA Course syllabus, we can also purpose design tutoring sessions to tailor the day(s) to meet your specific needs.

Here are some examples of the type of courses we run on a regular basis:

1. Half day basic close quarters manoeuvring - £110.00

This session concentrates on building the confidence and skills to handle your own boat in close quarters situations such as mooring in a marina in tidal conditions, picking up mooring buoys singly and on trots, turning in narrow spaces and holding station.

2. RYA Powerboat 2 on own boat - £585.00

The complete RYA powerboat 2 qualification delivered aboard your own boat. This is a two day course covering close quarters handling, introduction to passage planning, pilotage, managing tides, weather forecasting and charting. Everything you need to know to be safe in your home waters in daylight. The maximum number we can instruct at one time is three people.

3. Introduction to Coastal cruising - £295.00

A one day session designed for owners with some experience but who want to use their boats to travel further this one day course concentrates on passage planning, pilotage. You will learn how to plan a journey to a distant port and then execute the plan under the guidance of one of our experienced instructors

4. RYA Coastal cruising by day - £615.00

This 2 day RYA Qualification builds on the RYA powerboat 2 qualification to extend an owner´s ability to plan and execute coastal journeys safely.

5. Own boat engine maintenance. Single engine installations - £180.00, twin engines £295.00

The commonest emergency at sea is engine failure. This one day course is designed to equip owners to minimise the likely hood of a failure at sea and also equip them to be able to repair the most common failings during a passage if the worst should occur.
